We were lucky, other sites didnt look as accomadating. The original visitor center was completed in 1957, and the new lodge was open for business in the same year. We reserved a site for our big tent B37 and there was a flat spot for a very little tent and the rest of the site was sideways and downhill. We won’t return to the campground again though ....it just needs work. The falls, river and canyon are so beautiful, it would be a shame if you traveled all the way to Yellowstone and skipped this area of the park, it is a must see. We were in B-loop. Camping in the park avoids long drives to get where you will want to go in the park. We enjoyed our nights here, and would go back without hesitation. Overall a good campsite and a close drive to the awesome views of the upper and lower falls.We loved our stay at Canyon.
