Reservations in advance are essential.Situated at 2,700m and accessible via the Grandes Rousses DMC lift, this ice cave was constructed by two mountain guides, Bruon Gardent and Bernard Lambolez. There should be some variations in breakfast, and the fact that mushrooms and tomatoes are rasioned is weak. Fabulous food, friendly and attentive hosts.

This 200 year old traditional mountain house has been carefully renovated and transformed into a mountainside guesthouse with 4 charming guest suites. Nothing has been too much trouble for her she has been fantastic and we have enjoyed her company a lot.

The chalet was superb, well-located and the resort has a wide range of skiing available. At 1860m altitude, the south facing resort benefits form the winning combination of lots of sunshine as well as a great snow record. Highly recommended.We had a great family holiday. Alpe d’Huez is known locally as the I'Ile au Soleil - Island of the sun - and nestles spectacularly in a high altitude bowl with pistes stretching out to every surrounding mountain peak and point of the compass. Arriving in Grenoble however we were provided with one 4 seat car and one 6 seat mini bus meaning families had to split across vehicles. Meals have always been served at the expected times; particularly important with children, although with the staff willing to be flexible should we require a change.

Intermediates have 33 red slopes to choose from and can also enjoy night skiing on the floodlit slope and a beginner snowpark. Enjoy 237km of pistes. Along the way you will see ice waterfalls and frozen lakes while your guide fills you in on the history, anecdotes and tales of the area.The Palais des Sports is the main hub for non-skiing sport related sport in Alpe d'Huez boasting an indoor pool, rock climbing, badminton and squash courts, archery, table tennis, indoor football and indoor tennis courts and basketball courts. The ski hire bought through VIP had really helpful staff, providing assistance with different types of skis and when I had problems with my own boots being ill fitting! Our private courtyard of piste-side chalets is in the perfect position to enjoy the very best of Alpe d’Huez in luxury never before seen in the resort. Patrick and Jack the chalet hosts were absolutely brilliant, they catered for our every needs from the culinary delights to advice on were to drink!! We would definitely use VIP Ski again.From early morning coffee to afternoon cake, there really isn't much more that the brilliant staff could do for you; and ultimately it is their enthusiasm and unfailing cheerfulness that make this the best holiday experience.
